Why I Feel Safe Traveling Solo Abroad

April 21, 2019April 21, 2019 Julie Rose

I sometimes get flack from my friends and family about some of the "risky" decisions I make as a solo traveler. But I operate under the mindset that almost all people, everywhere, are good and kind.

April 7, 2019 Julie Rose

At first, he did a lot of things right. Then he did a lot of things wrong; he made the mistake that so many guys make.

Behold, the Power of Female Intuition

June 23, 2018June 24, 2018 Julie Rose

It rings a little alarm bell in your mind. It makes you tilt your head. You can’t put a finger on it… but something’s not right. Something doesn’t make sense.

IPAs are sooooo 2014... Check out @state48brewery in my latest blog 👉 my #favorite places to eat & drink in #phoenix/#scottsdale 👈 I'm a big fan of the the Van Buren Blonde Belgian Ale, which packs a punch at a not-too-shabby 7% ABV. Prost! 🍻 P.S. What other spots should I check out?! #linkinbio
💫 Look around, look around... at how lucky we are to be alive right now 💫 so very #thankful for all the blessings in my life 💖 #happythanksgiving, friends & loved ones! 😘
✨ @coachhousescottsdale, where #holidaytraditions are made🎄✨
🌵 home is where it’s 70 degrees and sunny ☀️
#Nashville, you’re on my mind... 🤩❤️ #flashbackfriday
Wanna know what really irritates me? The “how old are you?” question. Why, pray tell, do you ask? Would knowing my age somehow solve the puzzle in your mind, as you struggle to assess me, and put me in a box? Yeah, I #travelsolo. I’m not married. I do what I want. I’ve had 34 years of #lifeexperience. And I’m proud of that. I’m proud of what this brain and body can and has accomplished. The judgment surrounding age is a construct, people. Don’t be a judger ✌️ Read the rest #linkinbio & #youdoyou #beproud!! 😘
What does a #backpacker look like?! It’s a #carryon life for this girl 🎒👱🏼‍♀️👆🏼

Calling my #digitalnomad, #remoteworker, and #traveler friends... where should I homebase next?! I’m leaving AZ again... I’ve officially rented my house out again this winter, and while I *think* I know where I wanna go.. I’m still taking suggestions! 🤗 Requirements: ✅ affordable cost-of-living ✅ good WiFi ✅ time zone in the Americas ✅ safe & welcoming for @minipennyrose ✅ not too cold ☀️😂 Here’s to #newadventures, a #changeofpace, and that #nomadiclife 🌎💫 When one door closes, another opens, right?! ❤️
One year ago, I lost my dad suddenly, & shortly afterwards, I took a #solotrip to Ireland, which helped distract me from and process my father’s death, while I paid tribute to his life. Ever since, in every country I travel to, I've made it a personal tradition to find an #orthodoxchurch, light a candle, and say a prayer for my dad. In that way, he becomes a part of the trips I take and the memories I make. This is from a #russianorthodox church in #amsterdam #netherlands. Memory eternal, Dad. ☦️🇳🇱
Would you live in a 3-story tilted cube? The #cubehouses in #rotterdam are meant to resemble a treehouse and are a HIGHLY coveted place to live. I toured inside, and while it’s more spacious than expected (4 levels & 1,100 sq feet), and a pretty neat architectural concept... I think I’m content where I’m at 😉😂 #Netherlands #architecture #travelphotography
Happy birthday to this beautiful soul, @elvalnoel, who I met two years ago in #salzburg via @couchsurfing and with whom I’ve been lucky enough to stay in touch. Now... we meet again in #holland to see the sights together... to include eating #olieballen (raisin doughy things), #poffertjes (roundish small pancakes), #vla (vanilla pudding with sprinkles), and of course, seeing the beautiful sights in the #netherlands. Thank you for showing me a genuine #dutch birthday party and taking me around your home. 💗 our international friendship! 😘 #couchsurfingfriends #travelfriends
