Previous to this trip, I have mainly been a solo traveler. It’s not always easy finding people who have the same sense of adventure as I do, and I can’t really blame them. Most of my travels are full of long days, rough sleep accommodations, loose plans, and lots of spontaneity. Trying to precisely plan my trips stresses me out, and I know for many, and I know for many not planning everything out stresses them out.
When I booked this trip, I only knew one person, Julie […] if not for her, I would not have been on this trip or writing this post. To say she has inspired me in more ways than one would be an understatement.
Once the group arrived I quickly realized this was going to be a great trip, with great people, who all had the same sense of adventure as I do. It was also just relaxing to follow the leader.

9 DAYS, 8 NIGHTS in JAPAN: Visit vibrant Osaka, share a traditional meal with monks, witness history at Hiroshima, sail to the sacred island of Miyajima, visit the iconic geisha district of Gion, soak in natural hot springs, and adventure in bustling Tokyo
12 DAYS, 11 NIGHTS in SOUTH AFRICA and ZIMBABWE: Explore multicultural Cape Town, see African penguins at Boulders Beach, spot the “Big Five” at Kruger National Park, learn about cheetah conservation, marvel at the largest waterfall in the world, immerse yourself in local culture through a Zimbabwean village visit, and cruise the Zambezi River at sunset
About my group trips
- The groups are SMALL and sometimes CO-ED, sometimes WOMEN-ONLY… between 8-16 people, but 12 on average (including me)
- The trips include the types of activities you’re used to seeing from me: REAL, AUTHENTIC, CULTURAL, CURATED… my must-see and must-do picks
- The tours include GROUP ACTIVITIES so we (me included!) can bond and share amazing moments, but also SOLO or FREE TIME so that you can practice flexing some of the solo travel muscles you’re building
- On that note, I am NOT the tour guide… I’m taking part in the experiences right there with you (we will have vetted and accredited guides)
- These trips are HIGH-VALUE, but offer cost-cutting options like shared accomodations
- Payment is collected and held by either Boutique Travel Advisors or the tour operator we’ve selected to partner with — so your money is always safe with them
- Age is but an ATTITUDE; all are welcome! The guests on my trips typically range from their 30s to 70s, and are a mix of solo travelers, small friend groups, couples, or multi-gen (IE, mother-and-daughter)
- Depending on demand, I will offer 3-4 trips a year (I’m a busy gal!) — in different destinations and of different price points
- IDEAL TRAVELERS must possess open-mindedness, curiosity, and a motivated desire to broaden your horizons and to be CHALLENGED by GROWTH!
